The FBI accuses North Korea of stealing 6.3 billion dollars in crypto assets from Binance
The FBI has accused North Korea of stealing $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance. The agency claims hackers are attempting to convert the stolen assets through decentralized finance services. Most transactions were conducted in Ethereum, and Binance has blocked $3 billion with blockchain managers' help. The exchange temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while investigating unauthorized operations. Preliminary findings suggest attackers compromised an operations engineer's laptop to access the system for unauthorized withdrawals. Binance will cover all losses through its user protection fund and its own resources.
