The Government accelerates the granting of aid for victims, which will reach 84,141 euros
The Spanish government is expediting compensation for victims of the Urda train accident, aligning it with previous incidents in Adamuz and Gelida. The extraordinary aid package will increase mandatory travel insurance payouts to €84,141 for severe permanent injuries and €72,121 for fatalities. The compensation structure categorizes injuries into 14 levels, with the highest payouts for extremely severe cases. Eligibility for aid requires proof of injury directly linked to the accident, and payments will be processed quickly without waiting for civil liability determinations. Exclusions apply only to those responsible for the accident under the influence of substances or intentional actions.
