The Government denies "ethnic motives" in the operation against Blocus by the Mossos d'Esquadra, with 10 arrests and 2,300 identifications
The police operation in Catalonia related to Blocus resulted in 10 arrests and 2,264 identifications, with concerns raised about the age of some identified youths. Interior Minister Núria Parlon reported that 1,800 identifications were made by the Mossos d'Esquadra and 464 by the Guardia Urbana. She noted that the arrests included three in Barcelona and seven elsewhere in Catalonia, linked to vandalism. Parlon rejected accusations of racial profiling during identifications, stating they were based on specific clothing described in Blocus messages. The CUP party demanded explanations for what they termed indiscriminate identifications, particularly in Barcelona, and called for Parlon to appear in Parliament regarding the incidents.
