The PSOE invokes professional secrecy to avoid handing over to Pedraz the contracts with lawyers under suspicion in the 'Cloacas case'
The PSOE has refused to provide the judge with contracts related to lawyers involved in the 'Cloacas case', citing professional secrecy. Judge Santiago Pedraz had requested this information to determine if the payments were for legitimate legal services or concealed funding for activities linked to Leire Díez. After an initial request went unanswered, the judge set a 48-hour ultimatum for compliance. PSOE's Organization Secretary, Rebeca Torró, defended the party's stance, emphasizing the importance of confidentiality between lawyers and clients. She compared the request to a health center disclosing patient records, asserting that not all clients are the party itself. The case involves two lawyers already implicated, but the PSOE claims no knowledge of any wrongdoing regarding the funds paid to them.
