The vote of naturalized citizens is in the hands of the Supreme Court in extra time
The Constitutional Court has ruled against allowing descendants of exiled Spaniards to vote in the upcoming elections, deeming the request premature. This affects over 160,000 individuals who were nationalized under the Democratic Memory Law. The court's decision was based on the fact that the Supreme Court's ruling on the matter is not final. The Defensor del Pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, sought to challenge this suspension but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, a separate legal action has been initiated against Sofía Puente for alleged administrative misconduct related to the same law.
