They revealed how many drowned in Lake Balaton this year

During the summer tourist season at Lake Balaton, five people drowned, the same number as last year, according to the Balaton Water Police. The report indicates that water police saved over 200 lives. Two victims fell from pedal boats and likely could not swim well, while another fell from a small boat, with illness or choking possibly contributing to their drownings. The fourth victim capsized while kayaking but was able to swim, and the fifth drowned near the shore, likely due to illness. The police reported no unsuccessful rescues or drowning incidents related to rescues. Similar to last year, few crimes occurred in the area, with four investigations initiated for various offenses. There were 79 proceedings for water traffic violations this year, down from 86 last year. A total of 134 requests for summer water events were received, with 102 held, compared to 94 last year. Additionally, storm warnings were issued 506 times.
