The performance of the Hungarian economy looks quite bad even at the EU level.
Hungary's economy showed disappointing performance in Q3, growing only 1.5% year-on-year and 0.1% quarter-on-quarter, below analysts' expectations. This quarterly growth is among the lowest in the EU, with only Lithuania, France, and Italy performing worse. In contrast, the EU average growth was 0.5%, led by Ireland at 5%. Hungary's annual growth rate ranks sixth lowest, matching the EU average, with poorer performances from Germany, Italy, Belgium, Austria, and France. Analysts suggest that the agricultural crisis may have had a more significant impact on the economy than previously thought.
