Spotify has had enough, the recommendation system is changing

Spotify has removed over 50 million AI-generated or spam-like songs from user recommendations this year, alongside 75 million additional spam tracks. The platform aims to combat the rise of AI-generated content that undermines genuine artists. New measures include analyzing user engagement and feedback to identify spam content, and a badge will indicate verified human artists. Previous rules required songs to achieve at least 1,000 plays annually to earn royalties, complicating fraudulent activities. Despite these efforts, challenges remain as manipulation tactics evolve and AI tools advance, raising concerns about protecting human creators while embracing new technologies.
