Electric vehicles for the needy with support of up to 80% in OE2027
The Minister of Environment and Energy announced support for the purchase of electric vehicles aimed at low-income individuals, covering around 20,000 vehicles with up to 80% funding. During a parliamentary debate on the 2027 State Budget, Maria da Graça Carvalho confirmed that the government will maintain incentives for electric vehicle purchases for the general population, with a budget of 50 million euros. Additionally, a new 10 million euro competition was launched to encourage the replacement of combustion engine vehicles. The government plans to support 9,000 electric vehicles for microenterprises and co-finance the acquisition of 700 electric buses for low-density areas. A new program worth 100 million euros will focus on decarbonizing high natural gas consumption sectors, and future dam concessions will fund ecosystem restoration efforts.
