They have started to dismantle the healthcare superauthority established by Fidesz, setting up two new institutes at Tisza
The Hungarian government has established two new health institutions, the National Public Health Institute and the National Pharmaceutical Institute, effective November 1. The National Public Health Institute will operate under the health minister and will oversee public health programs, ensuring equal access to healthcare services. It will also handle drug policy tasks and food safety responsibilities. The National Pharmaceutical Institute, created from the National Public Health and Pharmaceutical Center, will focus on pharmaceutical methodologies, support drug development, and coordinate regulatory activities related to pharmaceuticals and medical devices. This restructuring follows the previous establishment of a super authority by the Fidesz government in 2024.
