Elon Musk studies historic megamerger between SpaceX and Tesla
Elon Musk is exploring a potential merger between SpaceX and Tesla, which could create a tech giant valued at €3.1 trillion. During a quarterly results conference, Musk indicated that both companies have formed independent technical committees to study the merger. He described the integration as a "good idea," but emphasized that negotiations are still in preliminary stages without defined financial terms. If successful, this merger would position the new entity among the largest in the global financial market, competing with major tech firms like Nvidia and Apple. Musk is formally distancing himself from direct negotiations to avoid conflicts of interest, while also cautioning that the outcome remains uncertain. The two companies have already collaborated in areas such as AI and semiconductor development, with a joint project, Terafab, aimed at advanced AI chip production set to begin in 2028.
