The court ordered the arrest of György Matolcsy

Former central bank governor György Matolcsy has been detained for a month due to allegations of economic fraud. Alongside him, lawyer Tamás Sándor and company leader Mihály Valkó are also implicated. The court sessions lasted nearly nine hours, and all three suspects have appealed the decisions, which are not yet final. They are accused of causing significant financial harm through fraudulent activities, with claims that Matolcsy attempted to reorganize the management of a foundation's assets to retain influence after his term. Investigators allege this maneuver resulted in hundreds of millions in financial losses.
