Gyárfás Tamás's request for retrial was rejected
The Budapest Court of Appeals rejected Tamás Gyárfás's request for a retrial regarding his conviction for inciting the murder of media entrepreneur János Fenyő. The court found that the statements provided did not meet the legal criteria for new evidence. Gyárfás's defense can appeal this decision to the Curia within eight days. His lawyers had claimed new decisive evidence emerged since the final verdict, including testimonies from new witnesses asserting Gyárfás's innocence. One witness claims to know the actual instigator of the murder, while another, previously mentioned in the case, has not been interrogated. The defense argues these testimonies could undermine the previous ruling.
