In 2025, 2,000 full hospitalization beds will be removed from hospitals and clinics in France
The number of hospital beds in France has been declining for twenty years, with a loss of 2,000 beds in 2025. However, public hospitals saw an unprecedented increase of 200 beds. Overall, complete hospitalization beds decreased by 0.6% to 365,100. This decline is mainly due to private sector losses, while public hospitals experienced their first increase since 2013.
