In Germany, tens of thousands of young people expected in the streets on Saturday to protest against the cost of living and the state of schools

On October 31, over 170,000 people were expected to participate in protests across more than thirty cities in Germany, organized by the "GenZ regelt" movement. The demonstrations, inspired by similar movements in France and Italy, aim to voice the concerns of young people regarding issues like high living costs and inadequate educational facilities. Veronika Dinter, a spokesperson for the movement, emphasized the precarious situation of youth and the lack of institutional support. Authorities are on alert for potential violence during the protests, especially given the date coincides with Halloween, but have found no concrete evidence of planned violence. The movement has distanced itself from extremist groups and hate speech.
