In Spain, the latest generation wind turbines free the landscape
The Estaca de Bares cliffs offer stunning ocean views and are the northernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula. On October 19, a crane is set to dismantle one of Endesa's wind turbines, which have been operational since 1998. Forty aging turbines will be replaced by four modern ones, part of a €36.3 million project funded by NextGenerationEU. This EU recovery plan has mobilized €612 million for wind energy in Spain. The dismantling process involves careful extraction of turbine components, taking two days to complete after disconnection from the power grid.
