In Serbia, the student movement wins the legislative elections against the populist leader Aleksandar Vucic

On October 25, hundreds of thousands of Serbs celebrated the opposition's significant victory in legislative elections, marking a historic political shift. Aleksandar Vucic, former president and leader of the ruling coalition, conceded defeat to the 'student list' shortly after polls closed. He criticized the opposition's success as a result of foreign influence, particularly from European countries and the American deep state. Preliminary results show the student list leading with 140 seats in the 250-seat parliament, while Vucic's coalition secured only 104 seats. Major historical parties failed to meet the 3% threshold for representation, with the Socialist Party likely exiting parliament for the first time in 36 years.
