U.S. envoy in Russia to discuss solutions for the war in Ukraine with Putin

The U.S. envoy, Steve Witkoff, is meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg to discuss solutions for the Ukraine war. This follows a constructive meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Oslo. While the Kremlin is open to hearing proposals, it has ruled out any political concessions. Tensions between Ukraine and the U.S. have escalated recently, particularly after Donald Trump's comments regarding oil agreements with Russia. Ongoing drone attacks in Ukraine have resulted in casualties, with no significant advances reported on the battlefield.
