Epcol does not see an imminent risk of fuel supply disruption this winter in Portugal
Epcol does not foresee imminent risks of fuel supply disruptions in Portugal during the upcoming winter, despite geopolitical uncertainties affecting prices. The association emphasizes that Portugal's refining capacity, logistics, imports, and strategic reserves ensure supply security. However, ongoing instability in the Middle East raises concerns about energy market pressures. The National Entity for the Energy Sector (ENSE) has indicated a yellow risk level for the petroleum sector, suggesting potential issues but low probability of real threats. The European Commission also confirmed no physical shortages of diesel or aviation fuel in Europe, while acknowledging ongoing supply pressures. The focus remains on increasing refinery production to mitigate high fuel prices.
