Audi narrowly avoided a loss: its profit decreased by 87 percent
Audi's profit plummeted by 87% in Q3, reaching only €95 million. The company has downgraded its annual financial forecast for the second time this year. Revenue for the first nine months fell by 13.1% to €42.1 billion, with operating profit down 26% to €1.15 billion. Deliveries decreased significantly in key markets, with China down 24.5% and North America down 17.3%. The company faces additional costs due to U.S. tariffs, estimated at €1.2 billion. Audi now expects revenue of €55-59 billion and an operating margin of 3-5%, lower than previous estimates. Cost-cutting measures may lead to the loss of up to 7,500 jobs in Germany by 2029, resulting in a real wage decrease of about 10% for employees due to inflation.
