The Stalin statue is already being built in the courtyard of the City Hall - photos

The recent activities in Városháza Park revolve around the installation of a statue of Joseph Stalin, which will be toppled during a state commemoration of the 1956 revolution. This event marks the 70th anniversary of the original statue's installation, which was decided by the government in December 1949. The statue will be removed on October 23 at 21:37, similar to the original event in 1956, but this time in Városháza Park instead of the former parade square. The public can also enjoy light projections before and after the statue's removal. Additionally, the statue will be toppled again over the following weekend, accompanied by light shows. Traffic changes will be implemented starting October 22.
