Erasmus+ available again at all Hungarian universities

Erasmus+ is now available for all Hungarian universities after legal obstacles were removed, allowing students to participate in the program again. Roxana Mînzatu, the European Commission's Executive Vice-President, announced this change during the "Back to Erasmus" event. Previously, universities faced restrictions due to issues related to transparency and conflicts of interest involving public-interest asset management foundations. The new Hungarian government has made reforms to meet EU requirements, leading to the resumption of Erasmus contracts. Regular student exchanges are expected to restart in the 2026/2027 academic year, with some mobility forms potentially resuming sooner. However, the previous government's failures resulted in significant financial losses for Hungarian institutions.
