Cantina Salazar School opens on Friday with new life
The Centro Interpretativo do Estado Novo will open in Santa Comba Dão, aiming to provide an impartial exploration of the Estado Novo period. Inês Matos, the mayor, emphasized the importance of political will in overcoming fears of a museum glorifying Salazar. The center will feature thematic exhibitions, debates, and a library, fostering a space for reflection and learning. The opening exhibition will focus on censorship during the Estado Novo, complemented by local music performances. The initiative seeks to engage the community and promote tourism, highlighting the historical significance of the site.
