Public School wants guarantees to avoid failures in exams

The Missão Escola Pública (MEP) has questioned the Ministry of Education regarding measures to prevent issues experienced during the national exams this summer. In a letter, MEP emphasizes the need for transparency about the steps being taken to ensure that mistakes from 2026 do not recur in 2027. They have posed 25 questions concerning the preparation for the upcoming exams, including the reliability of the digital grading system and the working conditions for teachers. MEP supports the establishment of a Parliamentary Inquiry Commission to investigate the previous year's failures and demands clarity on the decisions made regarding grading models and contingency plans. They also inquire about the continuation of digital grading and the potential return to paper grading if necessary. The letter concludes by asserting the public's right to know what went wrong in 2026 and what is being done to improve the situation for 2027.
