State will subsidize 15% of obesity medications for monitored patients
The government will subsidize 15% of obesity medications for patients under a specific care plan in hospitals, prescribed by specialists. Patients must be monitored by the Multidisciplinary Obesity Team (EMO) and follow a comprehensive approach including physical activity, nutrition, and psychological support. They need an active clinical process according to the Integrated Care Pathway for Obesity (PCIPO), part of the National Program for Obesity Prevention and Management (PNPGO). Only medications prescribed by endocrinologists, internists, or pediatricians within the EMO framework will qualify for this subsidy.
