These Mozambican women want to change the country. And the world
The GirlMove Academy showcased the achievements of its 11th Change program cohort in Lisbon, highlighting the urgent need for gender equality in education in Mozambique. The event featured talks and performances by young women who shared their experiences and aspirations. Despite challenges such as early marriages and poverty, these women are determined to empower themselves and their communities. The academy, which has received recognition for its work, aims to reverse patriarchal norms by training young women leaders. The stories of participants like Imércia, a doctor focused on health literacy, and Érica, a journalist advocating for transparency, exemplify the potential for change in Mozambique.
