Solzhenitsyn statue "walks" through Vladivostok, Russia
A statue of Soviet writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was temporarily removed from its location in Vladivostok due to concerns about its size and visibility. Local authorities received complaints from residents about the statue obstructing views and usability of the area. The statue was moved back to its original site after 24 hours, with plans for future renovations to accommodate it permanently. Solzhenitsyn, a Nobel laureate, had only visited Vladivostok once during his lifetime, in 1994.
