Students in protest close Liceu Camões and António Arroio
Students and teachers at Liceu Camões and Escola Artística António Arroio in Lisbon faced closed doors and protests this Friday morning. Inspired by recent protests in Lisbon and Porto, students camped outside and blocked entrances with locks, demanding action against climate change and better education. The movement, Fim ao Fóssil, criticized government investments in war and fossil fuels while neglecting education and housing. The protests included chants and banners supporting various global causes. Assemblies were held to discuss future actions, including a planned student strike on November 20 against fossil fuel investments. A second demonstration for higher education students is also scheduled for November 18.
