EU announces two new drone technology hubs, backed by Ukrainian know-how

The EU plans to sign a defense industry pact with Ukraine by 2026 and establish drone technology hubs in Latvia and the Netherlands by 2027. EU Economy Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis highlighted Ukraine's battlefield experience as a key asset for enhancing Europe's drone capabilities. The initiative is part of the DECODER project, which aims to boost drone production in Europe and includes collaboration with Norway. Additionally, a new EU-Ukraine drone alliance has been formed to connect manufacturers from both regions, facilitating technology transfer and joint ventures in defense.
