EU demands Musk lift restrictions on Starlink for Ukraine
The EU expressed serious concerns over The Wall Street Journal's report linking Elon Musk to Starlink's reduced functionality in Ukraine, demanding immediate restoration of services. Ukrainian military relies on satellite internet for communication and drone operations. Recently, Starlink's military version showed decreased performance, affecting drone speeds and connections. Musk redirected inquiries to Trump, citing the military's authority over Starlink, although reports suggest Musk made the decision to limit Ukraine's access. The US Defense Secretary stated no orders were given to restrict Starlink's capabilities. The EU is developing its own satellite network, IRIS2, for civil and military use, which Ukraine can join.
