MEPs on official visit to China to address trade tensions with the EU
A delegation of EU lawmakers is visiting China to discuss trade tensions, following an agreement on hybrid vehicles. Led by Bernd Lange, the group aims to address issues like industrial overcapacity and market access restrictions. Engin Eroglu emphasized the importance of direct engagement with Chinese businesses, noting significant changes in the economic landscape since their last meeting. The visit includes stops in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai, marking the second parliamentary visit since 2018. The EU seeks to strengthen trade defense instruments amid concerns over dependency on Chinese products and resources.
