Europe prepares for disruptions in ports. Protest against arms transport

Trade unions from Italy, France, Greece, Spain, Turkey, and Morocco initiated a strike involving port workers across 22 countries. Major European ports like Hamburg, Valencia, and Genoa are expected to be affected, along with ports in India. The strike aims to protest against the use of port infrastructure for transporting weapons to conflict zones. In Italy, a general strike is planned, while Greek unions are also joining in solidarity. The protests highlight the increasing role of European ports in arms transport, with unions demanding an end to this practice. The Indian Water Transport Workers Federation supports the strike, citing casualties among Indian sailors due to ongoing conflicts.
