Europe has lots of pleasant cities but too few that matter
European cities are charming but often lack the economic power seen in larger cities globally. While cities like Paris and Madrid are significant, they fall short compared to urban centers in the US and Asia. The EU's urban landscape is characterized by many midsize cities, which, despite their appeal, do not generate the same economic dynamism. This dispersion of urban centers limits competitiveness in global industries. Although there are advantages to having multiple pleasant cities, the lack of a dominant metropolis may hinder Europe's ability to compete effectively on the world stage.
