The public media saves more than two billion annually by shutting down Sportradio and taking Petőfi into its own production.

The National Sports Radio will cease operations, while Petőfi Radio will continue with an unchanged team but will shift to in-house production. This decision, approved by the Independent Media Council, is expected to save over two billion HUF annually for public media. The National Sports Radio, which had low listenership and high operational costs, was deemed economically unsustainable. Its sports content responsibilities will now be handled by Kossuth Radio. The Petőfi Radio will relocate to the former studios of the National Sports Radio, and its production will transition from an external company to MRTV. These changes are part of a broader effort to create a more efficient public media system.
