Social Security surplus increases to 5,967.7 million euros by September

The Social Security system reported a surplus of €5.967,7 million by September, an increase from €4.745,4 million in the same period last year. Effective revenue reached €35.373,4 million, up from €33.434,5 million previously. Effective expenditure was €29.405,6 million, compared to €28.689,1 million last year. Notable increases included extraordinary supplements for children and youth (42.7%) and social inclusion benefits (38.7%). Conversely, there were significant decreases in extraordinary pension supplements (-100%) and pensions for veterans (-27.2%).
