False report and police officers in the apartment of the president of the Independence March
Police intervened at the home of Bartosz Malewski, president of the Independence March Association, following a report of a potential murder and suicide. The police acted quickly due to the serious nature of the threat, although it was later suspected to be a false alarm. Malewski expressed concerns that the report may have been maliciously filed due to his social and professional activities. He outlined three possible motives behind the false report, including retaliation for defending a client arrested during a protest, attempts to disrupt the upcoming Independence March, and potential provocations from foreign entities aiming to destabilize Poland. Malewski has reported the incident to the Bar Association and filed a complaint with the police.
