Tupperware factory in Constância sold for 4 million
The former Tupperware factory in Montalvo was sold for four million euros, with hopes for job creation in the area. The sale follows a failed auction where the highest bid was 3.8 million euros. The final price was reached after negotiations with the workers, who will receive about 40-45% of their owed credits. The buyer is a knife manufacturing company from Leiria, but future plans for the factory remain unclear. Local officials express optimism about reviving the site and utilizing the skilled workforce. The factory had previously employed around 260 people before ceasing production in January 2025 due to insolvency.
