Law School maintains additional time in exams
The Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra will maintain additional exam time for students with specific educational needs, emphasizing the importance of assessment credibility. Director Pedro Costa Gonçalves stated that the decision is based on studies and aims to ensure fairness in evaluations. Approximately 50 students protested against the reduction of extra exam time to 30 minutes, seeking a reversal of this decision. The faculty provides various special measures for these students, including sound inhibitors and special exam rooms. The increase in requests for additional time has made the previous arrangements unsustainable. The University of Coimbra noted that each faculty autonomously defines its evaluation norms, and the number of students with specific needs has significantly risen in recent years.
