Macau Medical School bets on Portuguese language teaching

The future Faculty of Medicine at the University of Macau will offer Portuguese language courses, facilitating access to medical professions in Portugal. The joint program with the University of Lisbon is nearing external accreditation and is set to open in August 2028. The new faculty, located in Hengqin, aims to accommodate up to 4,000 students and will prioritize local candidates. Graduates will receive a diploma recognized in Portugal, with language support available for those needing to learn Portuguese. Collaborations with local hospitals will enhance clinical training. Additionally, a new international master's program is being developed to bridge biomedical research and clinical practice, involving multiple universities.
