Farming ministers agree on more national control of EU funds as part of CAP reforms

EU agriculture ministers have reached an agreement to streamline farming subsidy payments, enhancing control over the Common Agricultural Policy for the 2028-34 budget. The deal preserves agricultural subsidies while proposing cuts to National and Regional Partnership Plans funding. Each EU member state will create a comprehensive plan for reforms and investments, aiming for greater autonomy in fund allocation. The new approach will focus on supporting active, young, and small farmers.
