FBI states that North Korea is behind billion-dollar hack at Binance
The U.S. intelligence agency blames North Korea for a major cryptocurrency theft, linked to the Lazarous Group. This group, supported by the North Korean government, is known for quickly dispersing stolen funds across multiple addresses to evade detection. The FBI's accusation follows a record theft of $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency. Binance has pledged to compensate affected users, covering 90% of the stolen amount so far. Following the hack, cryptocurrency values dropped significantly, with Bitcoin and Binance's BNB losing nearly 5% and 10% respectively. North Korea has denied involvement in both this and a previous $1.5 billion hack at ByBit.
