Felipe VI underwent cataract surgery on his left eye
King Felipe VI underwent successful cataract surgery on his left eye at the Fernández-Vega ophthalmological institute in Oviedo. The procedure lasted about thirty minutes and was without complications. He is expected to resume his official duties on Monday, following a recent public appearance in Llanes. This marks the first public health incident for the King in three years, with previous health issues including a wrist injury and a COVID-19 diagnosis. Currently, there are no plans for surgery on his right eye, which remains unaffected.
