Fernando Pimenta and José Ramalho fail to revalidate the world title in the K2

Fernando Pimenta and José Ramalho finished seventh in the K2 senior event at the Marathon World Championships in Argentina, failing to defend their title. They completed the race in 1:58.46.06, falling short of the Danish winners by 37.08 seconds. Pimenta secured a bronze in the K1 short race, while Ramalho did not finish. In the junior K2, Nuno Barros and Martim Conceição placed fourth. Rui Lacerda and Ricardo Coelho won the C2 title, marking Portugal's second senior title at these championships. Portugal also earned additional medals, including golds in junior categories and silvers in other events.
