Fibre Excellence: liquidation in sight for the site of Saint-Gaudens, nearly 250 jobs at risk

The Fibre Excellence plant in Saint-Gaudens is set for judicial liquidation by November 15 due to failed takeover plans. The Occitanie region and two companies, Soprema and Ghost, missed the deadline to submit their recovery proposals. Despite a new offer submitted in August and an extension granted, the necessary funding for restarting operations remains unfulfilled. Soprema had pledged 2 million euros, while Ghost promised a 200 million euro investment, but neither met the requirements in time.
