"Being alone is impossible". Sixty protesters demonstrate in Faro
Around sixty people protested in Faro against rising housing costs and in solidarity with similar demonstrations in Lisbon and Porto. Afonso Coelho from Algarve em Resistência emphasized the growing inequality and the struggle for housing as essential for democracy. The protest, organized to oppose 'rentism', highlighted the burden of high rents on people's lives. Participants chanted slogans advocating for housing rights and displayed messages criticizing the current housing crisis. Pedro Brandão, a researcher, expressed his frustration over the unaffordable housing market, while Júlia Vânia shared her struggles with rising living costs. Meanwhile, 55 protesters were detained in Lisbon during a related eviction incident.
