The pentathlon was missed: Pimenta and Ramalho in 7th place in the K2
Fernando Pimenta and José Ramalho finished seventh in the K2 event at the World Marathon Championships in Argentina, missing the chance for a fifth consecutive title. The Danish team of Valdemar Jorgensen and Jonathan Hansen won gold, followed by Argentine and Hungarian teams. Pimenta and Ramalho faced a setback at the second portage, which hindered their performance. Earlier, Rui Lacerda and Ricardo Coelho defended their C2 title, winning gold, while Coelho also secured a C1 world title and a silver medal in the short race. Junior and U23 categories saw several Portuguese athletes achieving podium finishes, including gold medals for Duarte Cunha and Gabriel Fernandes in C2.
