Cyclist (84) from Sint-Gillis-Waas dies after fall on cycling highway

An 84-year-old man from Sint-Gillis-Waas died after falling on a cycling path in Kluizendijkstraat. He fell near the roundabout with Reinakkerweg while riding alongside the road. Although he was wearing a helmet, he sustained severe injuries. Witnesses reported that he suddenly fell, but the cause remains unclear; he may have lost his balance or felt unwell. Emergency services attempted resuscitation, but he died at the scene. The Kluizendijkstraat was temporarily closed due to the incident.
