Finland explains itself after the president's conversation with Putin. "Deserves support"
Finland's Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen defended a recent phone call between Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that any action promoting peace deserves support. Valtonen clarified that Finland is not seeking to restore relations with Russia and does not aim to mediate in the Ukraine conflict, having aligned with Kyiv since the beginning. The call was described as a continuation of previous discussions and aimed at reviving peace negotiations, which were perceived to be faltering. Stubb noted that the initiative was taken to realign peace talks ahead of upcoming discussions in Abu Dhabi.
