A demonstration began in Chiado, Lisbon, with thousands marching towards Rossio, carrying banners and chanting slogans. Despite police warnings against camping, protesters planned to set up tents for the night. In Porto, a similar protest started at Praça da Batalha, moving towards Praça D. João I, a known gathering spot. The event included representatives from the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture and Mistreatment, responding to a request from citizens.
