French city of Lyon bans 'all protests' on Saturday

Lyon's prefecture has prohibited all protests on October 24 due to recent violence during demonstrations against inflation. The city faced significant unrest last weekend, with numerous shops looted and a tourist office set ablaze. Mayor Grégory Doucet described the situation as chaotic, leading to around 200 arrests. The Yellow Vest movement and unions are planning further protests for October 24 and a general strike on November 5. In response to the unrest, officials have implemented curfews in several cities, including Lyon and Paris, to safeguard commercial areas.
